Hey everyone! Sorry for being AWOL for two months, whoops :/ ANYWAYS! time for a recap...

Our squad served for two weeks in Louisiana, helping with hurricane disaster relief with Samaritans Purse. We mostly cleaned up fallen trees, gutted out moldy houses, and talked with home owners. Learned so much about actually doing life everyday with the Lord. & how He wants to go through every part of our day with us and through that we are changed. We don't have to run to Him with our problems and then go back to normal life. He wants us exactly who we are today, we don't have to clean up for Him. CRAZY! He is so so good! Also learned I'm amazing at a wall saw, not to flex.

We debriefed in Georgia for about 5 days then off to Guatemala!

Now, we are in Guatemala & had our 2 month anniversary of being on the race last week!

So, what have we been doing in Guate? Great question, glad you asked.
My team, Team Tov, have 3 different ministries we do throughout the week.
Mondays we teach English in a library in the city of Parramos, I teach middle school aged kids & even some adults! The only challenge is not knowing Spanish, but it's been cool seeing how the Lord moves through the language barrier.
Tuesdays we go to the CUTEST little city called San Antonio, & do houses visits & a VBS with the kids in the community. The people in an Antonio are some of the most loving & hospitable people I've ever met.
Wednesdays we plan our lessons for English classes in the morning, then in the afternoon, we have Beauty for Ashes women's ministry. This has been so cool to be apart of. Watching the women of San Antonio come together to learn more about Christ & what He says about them.
Then Thursdays, we have activation. This is basically where we have a message by one of the staff members at the base & then we go into the community & do it! This week we learned about hearing the voice of the Lord, then went into the community of Parramos, asked the lord where to go & he took us! This was honestly a bit scary for me, I've never done anything like that before. But while we were there, my teammate Raylee ended up washing a women's feet in the market! (blog about that coming soon)
Fridays! TGIF, we prepare sandwiches & coffee & take them to the homeless population in Antigua. In cities like Parramos & Antigua they have massive markets, selling everything from food to TV remotes to wallets. & the people who work the markets work for their food for that day, so whatever they make that day could be the difference between their family eating or not. They also usually sleep in the market square as well. So helping in a very practical way such as a meal, has opened the door for so many conversations about who they are, who the lord is, what they need prayer for, & much more!

A big part of all these ministries is just building relationships with the people. Asking about their families & who they are. The people of Guatemala are so willing and open to talk and are so loving. In a lot of ways, I feel like I'm learning from them!

Thats all for now, thanks for reading! :)
